Most of the previous studies conducted on the South Western Aquifer System focused mainly on the aquifer’s functioning and characteristics as well as the evolution of the aquifer’s use, but rarely on water valorisation. Thus, the SASSIII project aims to restore the equilibrium through the promotion of a sustainable management of the SASS water resources which constitutes the most limiting factor to every stable economic activity.
In order to evaluate the impacts of human action on the aquifer’s sustainability, it is important to collect detailed and accurate information about the behaviour of the primary user of this resource, namely farmers.
The study of the user’s behaviour is based on an appropriate methodological approach that ensures the reliability of results. Useful elements for the promotion of an efficient planning and decision-making will be concluded in light of the results analysis.
