Given the situation of rain scarcity and water quality degradation in the Djeffera plain in Tunisia, the potential of irrigation with brackish water is facing several problems related to agricultural, economic, and environmental risks pertaining to water use. Hence, agricultural development in the region entails the identification of efficient tools for the improvement and valorisation of poor-quality water in irrigation.
